Alone Ocean

By Kovine

Waves only crash over me
When I’m left alone
At night in bed
Swathed in sweat and the unnerving feeling
Of unshed tears that won’t spill over

Because if they do
It’ll be real
When they do
The waves will drown me
Distraction running low

I’m tired

Sometimes waves crash over me
And it’s not so bad
The ocean isn’t mad
Just reminding me
That I can float

Mmm… a piece you can feel descending into something dark, then suddenly not. Loved the ending and honesty throughout
