Heatstroke

By God Is In The Rain

One thermometer
bleeds mercury
the other -
battery fluid.
I am bleeding because
there's nothing left to sweat.
Why is the air on fire
every summer.

Suddenly - salvation!
My knight in shining armor
at the very back of the freezer
a little white box
'vanilla ice-cream'

Opening the lid -
praying to all things holy -
'please don't be empty'

huh? pistachio?

well, as long as it's -

cold.

Author's Note:

A ten minute poem, was supposed to be paired with a sketch of a girl first happily eating ice cream and second lying on the floor in pain, holding her stomach, but I don't think i'm ever receiving that so here's the poem anyway
