My Pit

By Qwendragoness

Basking in the warmth of a new heart found
My bliss is destroyed by a look in his eyes
It is not me in the reflection there
But the hope held for another

The light around me dims
As my pit of despair rises
I tried to love and have lost again
Before it was allowed to bloom

Back to my depths I resign
To lick my bleeding, aching wounds
This battlefield so harsh and so cold
Soon I will be able to fight no more

But in this pit I find some hope
As I look around it is his eyes that find me

I can not relate...but I can feel as much as your words have touched me. Some how...I realized the hope and happiness...the abrupt dissapointment and then the pain of this story. Wonderfully written I think...~JMDW~
