I'm a Shoe
By MrGrieves
lack of motivation sickens me
measuring minutes, hours to days
to feel time prey on accomplishments
put off
put away
ever eluding the phrase "you'll ammount to nothing"
and dodging yet another "direction is what you need"
the echo is startling, etching tiny anxieties
into a mind unwilling
stoned
still honing in on the clamor
endless family chatter as they feed at their social trough
topic is licked, plate is clean
enter causticity, i take a bow
with eyes that scream age
and a cynical posture, frayed
for my 23 years
like an old shoe worn daily for that
