No first star tonight
By midnights voice
.
.
You were my twinkling star
When I was but a child
Now the signs of time
Have made you who you are
You were once the child in me
The center of the truth
Now time has taken away the sight
That view you used to be
Now I gaze up above
Hoping I might see
But all that I can perceive
Is the life missing at the stub
Not even the star light
Can save me from my sins
I long to wish upon a star
But there are none out there tonight
