Dreaming with angels

By TheRaincrow

Tonight, I will be dreaming with angels,
I will ascend, and I will never
look back upon the dark, disdainful
shadows anothers' light held together.

See ME! Am I sleeping, damn you?
Am I dreaming? Inquire of endless space!
You can't even imagine, can you,
that you left me behind-but I won the race!

I will not awaken  come the dawn.
You'll find the stars reflected
in my eyes, but I'll be gone
flown on the stone the builders rejected.

My legacy of the million words,
the black blood of my white martyrdom
shout to a future to be heard
and so, without me, the day will come.

For when life broke my body, I was not whole;
when life broke my mind, I was not free.
But when life broke my soul, when life broke my soul,
WHEN LIFE BROKE MY SOUL, I was no longer me.

But tonight, I am dreaming with angels,
The last illusions fall;
I, who imagined life was painful,
YOU, who imagined nothing at all.
