The Lash

By DarkAsh

...
...

I could be the blood that wells up
Brightly
The jagged edge of skin
Torn
I'm the sharp snap of coiled
Leather
The hot hiss of pain-drawn
Breath

I am the cord
The whip
I am all that was and ever is
The here
The never
I am the strap which plays upon your ivory surfaces
And makes you scream
My
Name

I am the lash and
Though you are the one who swings me
Your skin is mine to break

  • A former member wrote: "Your skin is mine to break", now that is an angry, yet powerful way to wrap up a poem. I am really liking the visuals in this write, and also how you expressed this so beautifully. Good job, my dear. Reb:).
