Dream Eaters

By quantummysticist18

Sue my heart for every penny
For when the few become the many
I’ll crash the car into a brick wall
And you will miraculously survive.
Strip off all my clothes,
Those garments that constrict skin
And bind souls that yearn to feel grass beneath their feet.
Our love could be quite unassailable
If only you weren’t unavailable.
Helpless I surrender to the night,
Dark and dank and enclosing,
Pacing like a tiger, pouncing, devouring.
The demons come to eat my dreams
And rip my soul apart at the seams.
When I gaze out the north window
All I see is a simulacrum of your face,
Blurred and pixelated but nonetheless echoing
Like dead words deep in a cave.
The only conclusion is the power of inertia.
Here I lie consumed by fear
And hopeless thoughts of you, my dear.

A loosely rhymed and longing look to the North. A feeling of unrequited unavailability perhaps. Nicely done QT and sweet dreams - cheers! - Dan
