Fatal Dissolution

By Damon Tarloth

 ( Read Stanza 1 & 4 At A Slower Pace 4/4 Beat & A Slight Pause After Each Comma. Stanza 2 & 3 At A Faster Pace 2/4 Beat & No Pause After Commas. )

The reason you act, like you do.
Pushing me to say, we are through.
The blame would then, fall upon me.
Ending this torment, won't set you free...

Clearing your conscience, wipe the slate.
Betraying me won't cure this hate.
Turning your back, tainting my trust.
Damns us both with the knife you thrust...

Voices whisper inside your head.
Twisting my words from what I said.
No way to quench this hollow ache.
This illusion of life we forsake...

This last train ride, our final thrill.
You get my blood, to completely spill.
The final act, to sever our tie.
In darkness we lived, in it we die...

When you see  ...  in my poems, those are basically Pause, Pause, Pause for those that do not know...

My original vision is this:

Stanza 1 & 4 to be read at a slower pace with a 4/4 beat and a slight pause after each comma.

Stanza 2 & 3 to be read at a faster pace with a 2/4 beat and no pauses. Even if there are commas, as the commas are only there for punctuation and not to pause.

Almost sounds like a bond that needs to be broken DT - yet there are other considerations and attractions that maintain the connection in all of its misery. A sad but all too commonplace, mutual disintegration declaration maybe. Enjoyed your unforced, rhymed couplets in quatrains (or whatever they call it). Cheers! - Dan

I'm actually surprised anyone saw this. I just started posting several poems to use up my ducats. Thank you very much for not only reading, but taking the time to also comment. It is very much appreciated... D.T.
