New World Anthem

By Chameleon

I am not a flag to be draped
or paraded amongst your army
of blind supporters and mortors.

Don't include me in your statistics
or general innuendos, of a new world order
or string my stars like beads over your party

Don't tie me to the stake,
or paint an elaborate picture
of things that you believe to be 'inevidable'.

My stride strikes true to the ground I walk,
and don't tell me- I've lost my way...
I'm comfortable with this gift we were given
without feeling it necessary to create
a permanent distraction.

Leave me out of your world conflicts
or your messages of hate
and your selfish politics;
leave me alone

your anthems and fairy tales mean nothing to me.

I have escaped the reaches of betrayel
by finding a friend in myself
and a handful of others
whos paths co-incide with my own

it is the road less travelled
that I finally found my way.

I have no pity nor hate for your brave new world,
only the wish...that you allow me
to explore this life as I see fit-
for better or for worse;

I know where my faith lies.

    I read...and read...and read, then BAM! I liked...or something along those lines.

    You have a winner here dear chammie; how many lives do we go through just trying to find the bed in which our individual faith(s) lie? ~ mw
