Writers Block
By WitheredRoses
I created an account here with the intention of sharing some of my poetry...but
now that I have that ability I find myself filled with uncertainty. This
is severely out of character for me and I was wondering if anyone has any
advice on dealing with the fear of someone judging or mocking their work
that would be great.

I love the poem about the storm inside. Please open up and share your creativity, it's Divine.

The sad truth is, everyone has dissenters, no matter how seasoned their craft, and it falls on you to filter them out then see what remains. I used to dread the idea of people reading my work before I found DP...I was pleasantly surprised at the wealth of good criticism I received, a lot of which shaped me into the poet I am today. You'll never know until you take that first leap, and put yourself out there for everyone to see.

Old saying of opinions are like 'assholes' everybody's got one. You cannot please everyone, but with that being said you can please yourself. Write for you and the right people will follow. Hope this helps break down any self doubt barriers. I look forward to what you have to offer. Good luck :)
