Fawning tree

By Jessica Orr

Do you drift
and the point is
to cover;

god has seasons
to discover,
time has no meaning
and I just wink;
I will know true
knowledge and you
shall too,
as,

snow is a time
I celebrate repentance;
I can't move,
I can't breathe
I am frozen
and
he sings me around,
what so I do?
I seize my senses,
I dive in me
and I still
don't see you.

Rain is a mood,
I love it touching
my balance as it
weighs me down,
and I remember
the good of a home.

Sun, truth,
god's womb
and I grow and feed,
suckled and cared for,
my eyes narrowed,
drawn to heaven.

And reality,
it sets
and molds
and I'm still me;
Where does new end
and old as I will ever reign
over the fawning tree.
