Conversations with a young child

By Desi VS The World

A small child once asked me how a single rose could grow through the cracks of the concrete.

He said it would surely die when the wind blows or the next time it rains.
And then he asked me, "Should we end it's pain and take it from where it grew or would that make it hurt more?"

To that I was surprised, I didn't think small children could comprehend emotions.
So then I asked him, "What would you do? I mean, if you were the rose and in the rose's place?"

His reply was beautiful.
"If I was growing up in a broken place, and strived to live for so long, I would rather live in the place I grew than to die by being taken away."

I've never heard something more inspiring or intelligent come out of a child's mouth.

    A lovely heart warming piece.
