Aftershock ....and I love You
By openureyes
A life worth while should not be to much to ask for
when you pick your self out of the gutter
maybe more times than you care to remember
when you look endlessly for those arms that should be around you
and one day they are gone and it's too late
gratitude is what you find when you can finally look in the mirror and
face the facts
dust yourself off and move on and take that long journey with your head
held high
but there are no prizes
no finish lines
no gold star
You surprisingly
unwillingly
fall in love again
hard and fast and crazy
suddenly
you find what had to be LUST
was really the love you've been waiting for all this time
and once your heart starts to beat again
you breathe
Deep
a sigh
not even you can sabotage this.
sadly, you think, when life throws you another curveball
and then the big one
what will become of us
but nothing matters
you find your self in those loving arms you always knew you'd have
Happy tears, sad tears,
tears
tears
pain
over and over hand in hand
sleeping in a hospital bed with a ring on your left hand
your best friend to your right
agony in your hearts
And and when all is said and done
nothing and no one
no illness can break them
a dream come true
a whole new perspective
a whole new level of laughter ,
infinite romance, attachment , infatuation
continuous intrigue.
bittersweet ending
now maybe
The happy beginning ...

"The happy beginning" - so much wisdom in that line alone. There is no single "happy ending" to life, there is just a series of beginnings (or endings if you are a glass half empty kind of person). It is constantly a journey, filled with change, new beginnings, new directions you would never have chosen if it were up to you...and yet, that is life, circling back around to the start again. Excellent piece! Ciao, T/S

I wish more people felt this way about love. However fearful of the end we might be those loving arms will always help you go to sleep "10"
