SSDD

By SickSanityJenn

Standing alone, I bear all the weight
I steel my heart against the pain
There's nobody else to call for help
All hope for change died long ago
With no more belief in faith or fate
Everyday is just more of the same
I can't trust anyone, save for myself
I've learned it's easier to just let go
For years I cried myself to sleep
Wishing for lives I could never live
Wondering if I would always be here
Lost in skin I can't claim as my own
I try to make promises I can keep
Not everyone is so willing to forgive
Few stood by me through the years
Though now I stand here all alone
