Mosquito

By harlequinn

I remember thinking you actually cared.
Did you ever care to tell the truth?
I remember you told me it would get better.
How would I know I would be better off?

I remember I thought you were beautiful.
But your toxicity clouded my eyes.
I remember thinking you were perfect.
But now I see you're perfectly miserable.

You're a sickly, corrupted parasite
With a mask that bears a fake smile.
I thought I needed you, but now I know
I need you the way an exhuasted man
Needs another mile.

I can relate, most of us have someone like that in our past. As long as that is where they are relegated, it is an experience that can make us stronger and teach us to be more discerning about who we give our heart to. Ciao, T/S Scholar
