Of my own making
By keltruth7
What we contest
comes to pass
the darkness in our hearts
it consumes
from shallow thoughts
brings about an evil
conjures, tricks and deceives
tells us not to breathe
no pure thought can abide
no love
no warmth
no joy
we lie shattered in a cocoon of our own making
choking
gasping
suffocating
what we contest comes to pass
we hold the key
how long will it last

Only the strong make it out of the cocoon, but emerge as an improved being. When people go about looking for enemies they usually end up fighting themselves. A great write.
