Midnight Somersaults(airs,lairs,hairs and stairs)
By Dark Unicorn
It's a dead-end street on the edge of Mortals' Creek
A midnight madness,a graveyard lunar eclipse
Where the ghastly sound of dead men reeks
And my thorn-infested mind goes on celestial trips.
Rivers of grey throw dice in the still night air...
And sometimes when my soul flies on Time's golden stallion
And the black tulip between my eyes withers into flames
I glide with a flowy surrealism in my solo battalion
My nightmares revisit me,and the ghosts with forgotten names
Chanting tales of the famous solar beast's cold, humble lair...
I dive into a steel lake and swim with shards of tainted glass
My body unbruised,it straps crimson watches to my numb wrists
And replaces my heart with a cold raven of jet-black brass
Trees of dismembered butterfly fingers brush away the heavy mists
Immortal demons throw sand dunes and bloodthirsty eagles in my hair...
Burnt clouds spin around heaving ladybugs on their backs
And the sky's blue mane drifts into pools of chocolate lust
Severed dragons, pin hats and all things my heart lacks
Creep above me on cobweb carriages and have them I must
Until I spot my midnight somersaults beneath gold ice stairs...
