The broken hearted knight

By DeepLoversPoet

The night falls in a heavy, suffocating cloak, stricken are we.
The love for which you sacrifice yourself
flares once, then dies,
smothered by the abyss.
All hope must surely perish.

Your passion throbs no more.
How could you not understand?
demons surround us, crying,
we are fallen.

What have you wrought?
A black cloud of misery as perceptions shudder.
once we savored paradise,
wide-eyed and virginal,
but your desire shrank.

In a clouded vision of love -
thoughts follow memory, follow bone,
that love torn apart.
In a torrent of vengeance,
I condemn you to your own personal hell.

Yet I beg you don’t cry for this broken-hearted knight.
