Consumed

What have you done?
In a haze of betrayal as emotions diminish.
once we drank of innocence,
wide-eyed and childlike,
but your thirst soured every moment.
As a sickening vision of memory -
in the betrayal of my emotions 
all followed into bitterness, followed into pain,
as love consumed all we held dear.

As so in my day’s of loneliness,
I condemned you to the depths of my hollowed heart.
