the herder of the flocks

By daiglepoems

Girls are not that smart.
In fact, they're kind of stupid.
They'd trade your broken heart
for arrowheads with Cupid.

Black Tahitian pearls
for near clear glass.
Ten toed curls
for a backstage pass.

Instead of pink carnations
they see a briar patch.
Hold high expectations
for an imperfect match.

They think the grass is greener of the flip side of the hedge,
but the world just gets meaner
when you're out there on the edge.

Lost little kittens
with bells on their toes.
Invariably smitten
by a wolf in sheeps clothes.

"He's muscular.
He's handsome.
He's the herder of the flocks."
Go ahead,
Chance 'em.
It is written Goldilocks.

Seek and ye shall find.
As ye sew, shall ye reap.
"He's got a nice behind
but oh my god what a creep.
Plus, flocks don't need no herder. Gag me with a spoon.
I'm contemplating murder,
Look!
He's howling at the moon"

I strongly disagree with the statement that girls are stupid, but i like the flow of this poem, so i'm going to give it a 10

I don't necessarily subscribe to that generalization either but.... that's what I love about poems. You can say anything and write it off to poetic license. And certainly there are plenty of cases to substantiate that chauvinist view.
