The King of hearts
By DeepLoversPoet
The ink from your quill bleeds through the cracks as you wake.
A rare time when you are left with diamonds in your mind
shining through all space and time.
Sending chills down your sleeping spine,
making you feel like you grew wings to fly.
All time has passed away
in a flicker of a flame
and it’s amber's die away.
With just one kiss from a thief
and all ales fades to a sender.
You thought
all hearts hang from trees
leaving their lives behind
With no regret of time.
But in the end you have learned
don't trust the King of hearts
He lies every time.

This piece reeks of betrayal, "all hearts hang from trees, leaving their lives behind." Those two lines contain excellent metaphors and personification too nicely written-Mrk
