"It's so hard to sleep next to you..."
By inhisbelly
With you, a bed’s a Petri dish,
culturing watercolor visions
and intricate webs of buzzing
organic matter.
In the night we lay
not in dens of black,
but bathe
in wispy silver clouds,
billowing from parted lips that kiss
the sun with startling conviction.
We are citrus and hyacinth,
denying the night of its predatory prowl
with the vibrance in our eyes.
We are cliff-edge-dancers
with sloppy footing,
blindfolded and free in our laughter
at certainty;
inflated; elated
as our feet transcend weight
and fall victims to the wind.

Bev, you're back (to put us out of our misery-slash-poetic-withdrawal). Let's see here . . . "bathe in wispy silver clouds, billowing from parted lips that kiss / inflated, elated, our feet transcend weight." The way you weave nature, elements, and precious metals into your work is astounding. Why can't you sell day-passes to the fairyland you live in, Bev? I'd upgrade to VIP . . . but now I can sleep tonight with the moonlit agility of a woman in the clouds . . . 10/10; as always, you never fail to surprise me with your range and indefatigable awareness and perception of true love . . . and the truth of all it entails. Your cryptic words are truly art that spur soul-searching and reflection that knows no bounds. Such gifts have been bestowed upon you--use them wiselyyy
