Anxiety Bones
By horrorchantenshi
I am not with it again.
More and more days
pass me.
It's like the world is moving quickly
and I'm frozen
and left behind.
And it hurts
how they punish me
before they help me.
Don't they understand
I'm not that kind of girl.
I can't move when it's at that point
I just sit
and shake
frozen.
Don't they get I'm asking for help
"She missed another day
she must be a delinquent"
But don't they get it?
I can't go
I can't move
because I have anxiety in my bones.

It's a happy accident, me coming upon this piece. Anxiety and bones are both reoccurring themes in my writing, so I was instantly drawn to the title. Good poem. Reminds me of high school a little too much.

I love this poem, I have anxiety in my bones sometimes, too. That's so ingenious of you to name the feeling like that, it's so true. Thank you for sharing this.
