Kevlar dressed
And waiting
sweet fists clenched pistol
Aiming so eloquently.
Loving palms like bullets
Grazing cheekbones.
And you've always
Been my happily Never after
And I've always
Missed you by the Skin
Of your teeth
You were silk skinned and serpentine
You were settled in splendid self-poverty. You're armor plated,
with delicate heart tendrils snapping
Leaping forward in lightning strike fashions
And I felt my jaw clench from the sizzle.
I felt my skin lose pigment across frosty knuckles
I felt your soul screaming silent. Daring me to squeeze
just a little more. I felt your teeth grinding
grin
And I begged you say you wanted this ending.
Cut the noose hanging hopeless.
Gas the floorboards
Where we once laid
Looking longingly into the ether.
Hair tied back. Laugh.
Because this is some
fantastic love story
up in flames.
Counting on the flicker
to destroy all the evidence
of you and me.
I only wanted to destroy the better parts of me
It was your misfortune
you were born with mirror masking iris
I only wanted to be more
demon than man soul alight and scorching
But there is something about these flames
and that look on your face leaving me thunderstruck
and I know, I wont be the one to end this
