Happy Tears
By redfurrydragon
Though times were dark, her hope bore on, so far away
from home,
The darkness her comfort, within it she’d hide, so cold
and all alone.
She’d think of her boys, her children she loved,
the princes of her heart
When dreaming she dared, a family complete,
no longer were they apart.
That which had stolen, her life and
her mind, one who had fallen apart.
The fear that he bred, the loathing
and hate, her death he would impart.
She prayed for a sign,
a light to shine down, a means to escape this place.
A messenger came,
he appeared from her dreams, a being not of her race.
Wide wings
of blood red, a collar of white, his fur was soft and smooth.
His
voice from within, a whisper it seemed, a warmth to calm and soothe.
For Wendy I come, this place we shall leave, never to see again.
Take my shoulders, clutch tight to my chest, your captor we will feign.
She took in her breath, her tears wet her cheeks, she thought her
life was nigh,
A monster as this, no angel is he, his coming must
mean she’d die.
Your tears, they will come, but not shed for
me, for I am not your salvation.
They’ll come on the morrow, for
two men who await, those of your own creation.
Her heart beat
too hard, her head it was swimming, her vision fading to black.
She
knew it well now, her death was assured, her body with trembles now wracked.
What else could it be, these two men who did wait, to cause her
to cry all her tears.
She thought of her family, her love that was
lost, the sum of all her fears.
In dreams she now hung, consciousness
waning, the fur of the Dragon she felt.
When light met her eyes, she
struggled to see, two children there now knelt.
She couldn’t
believe, a miracle true, it seemed it had been years.
Her boys in
her arms, all she cried now, were streams of happy tears….
