In the End

By BrideToAgony

Everybody dies
Yet, humanity will always find reasons to lie

We live so many years
Simply to fill lives, like cups to the brim with tears

What's our purpose?
What's our goal?
We have nowhere to go
And we've certainly nothing to show

Do people have souls? I wonder...
No
People don't have souls
If they did, the world could never be so cold

Sometimes I cry
but instead gaze up at the sky
And I wish I could reach that high

Wish I could soar
Into Air
Into Space
Into Nothingness
An Empty Place

Maybe then I could look upon His face
Or maybe the, the sun will swallow me whole
Wrap me tight in her infernal embrace

But if that came to pass
I'd be no different from the mass

Ended in the generically inescapable result
Not that it's anyone's fault

But like I said
In the end we're all dead

Exactly right, no matter what we do and how good or bad we are at it, the ending result is always the same. Leaves us asking ourselves, why bother. I love your perspective on real life!! Definitely one if my favorite reads
