Second Chances
By starrynite522
Falling into dark
To the floor of the abyss
Life flashes before
her eyes
She wonders what she missed.
Fear clutches at
her soul
Breaths stick inside her chest
Struggling for air
Her heart beats in tumultuous unrest.
Panic chokes her throat
She crawls along the ground
Alone, she's lost her way
And prays
that she'll be found.
Hands clasped tight around her ears
As screams echo in this hell
A gentle voice calls her name aloud
Faith begins to refill her empty shell.
A light cuts through
the shadows
She staggers to her feet
Eager for salvation
A
second chance so sweet.
