forget the past

By gearhead

The family i once had, has gone away

will they be back to ease my pain

i see no feature, nothing in sight

No one here, to hear my cry

In search of something to get me through

So i turn to the bottle when i think of you

It kills the pain, a moment of release

But when its over i have no peace

No sign of hope, its all so sad

So i keep drinking, to  forget the past...

the ones you love the most seem to cut the deepest. I write a lot of depressed poems, as many as I write I can't seem to compare mine to this wonderful write. great depth.

...the problem is, the future slips away while you're forgetting the past...

Catch 22. I know the feeling... The drinking only numbs it for so long before it gets bad again. I suggest focusing the feelings on your pen instead of the bottle, it's much more fulfilling i assure you :)
