Sinners

By Meadowhawk

Twisted faces
unrecognizable
unknown
drifting aimlessly
through a silent
mist shrouded void
haunting apparitions
that pass wordlessly
through
a gloomy netherworld
of self inflicted misery

They are tortured souls
lost in time
spirits without refuge
ghosts without respite
greiving for forgiveness
only to be touched
by the betraying kiss
of an aching sadness
that dimly reminds them
of their broken humanity

Shadows cloathed
in tears of self pity
they wander
through an endless
bitter night
searching for something
they'll never find
a warm and golden chalice
that gently cradles
one last drop of hope
