At Last

By finaldestiny

The light shimmers,
clenching the sparkle in your eyes.
Like a star in the night,
it's a treasure to me.

Your smile inwraps my heart,
leaving me breathless.
I can't help myself,
as if I am lifeless.

I caress the time endlessly,
wanting and hopeing for it to be eternity.
But it must come to an end,
for anything this good cannot last.

A gentle stroke can withhold my heart,
but don't be decieved and shiver it out.
A gaze from an eye shows meaning,
but words can be hidden and not be heard.

It's a feeling of strength and life,
that no words could embrace.
So it must dwell within our soul,
until the shackles can be realesed.

But once this feeling is released,
it cannot be controlled.
Although my heart feels relieved of the pressure,
it's hopes and dreams have not been fulfilled.

Until that time when our eyes meet,
and my heart is free,
I will accept my destiny,
until at last my dream is alive.

Excellent write. I esp like your references to the imprisonment/release of the creative impetus- at least that's what it is to me("it must dwell...released" and "But once this feeling...fulfilled"). Again, good job.
