Silent Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray to overcome defeat
Nothing left to sacrifice
Lost it all in a roll of dice.

Leaning on this vice I keep
Dual debate upon shoulders compete
My conscience fell off the right
As I was influenced by the left and lost sight.

Shame forms in tears I weep
Drowning dreams before my feet
If I wake up falling before I die
I pray my f
                   a
                       l
                          l
                             e
                                 n
                                         wings can fly...
