The Great Tempter
By Polaris
Give me your hate
I'll bottle it down
Stir up the waves
And
make them all drown
Give me your fear
I'll pack it away
And keep you safe
While my mind decays
Give me your sorrow
I'll let it all out
You can have once again
And I'll live
without
But...
Give me your trust
I'll give it right back
And when your not looking
That's when
I'll attack
Give me your joy
I'll throw it away
And
show you the fear
You gave me that day
Give me your love
I'll tear it apart
Throw it back at you
And rip out your heart
I am the savior
Thou shall not want
I come in your dreams
With an offer to taunt

This went from feeling sorry for yourself, into a righteous rage-filled rant, well done and much enjoyed, thanks!

An evil tempter, indeed. The begining starts off with such trust, such belief in the Tempter, you almost immediately give yourself over to him. But then as the poem unfolds, you see the real demon behind the mans face. Astounding visuals here. I especally like the last stanza. It leaves one with an almost haunting feeling. A seductive fear, if you will. Brava! Excellent job.
