Farewell

By redfurrydragon

Last night he came to visit me, his shroud was ragged and black.
He said, For you I have a message, and importance, it does not lack.

He said you have reached a crossroad, before you is a “T”,
Turn one way and live with pain, turn the other and leave with me.

To live with pain, you have done so long, your soul it does weigh down.
Leave with me and I will cradle you, I’ll smooth your furrowed brow.

To walk with pain, and live that life, may push others to their end.
Go my way, and all those you’ve known, their lives they will now mend.

The life you have, all those you’ve touched, your existence has brought them sorrow.
Your pains are yours, not theirs’ to carry. Your choice is on the morrow.

When you wake, then you will know, my message it does ring clear.
On your cheek, a drop of blood. The Dragon’s good-bye tear…

Life is pain and there is no avoiding said pain, even love can be a beautiful agony, to choose the latter would be to be without life, in my most humble opinion...... Another well penned write.

Two roads diverged upon a wood, I took the one less travelled, and that has made all the difference - R. Frost. Don't believe that your absence would be a relief for those who love you for they will always feel guilty most assuredly, amongst many other things. Cheers!

Then they feel guilt only upon death for in life they bear only derision and scorn. Thank you for your kindness.
