Polaris

By Polaris

I traveled blind through the endless deep
With the weight of a thousand suns
Poison atoms sting my flesh
Convulsions, freezing, gasping, bleeding

An empty feeling filled with light
It's brilliance cast right through
Request denied I can not stay
Bargaining, pleading, grief, misleading

The journey back unpaved and lost
I gazed upward and then I saw
Through the colored clouds it shone
Polaris, guiding me home

I'm happy to see a new member that is a sci-fi writer I dig that. Welcome to the Valley, and I loved your bio.

Thank you. George Carlin was a poet in his own sense.
