Letting My Gate Down Once More

By silentnomore

I open my heart,
To have it shredded.
Its all up to you,
To decide wheher,
Your going to let it.

Love hurts,
Pain is for free.
This life is old,
But it's the life of me.

The secrets I bear,
Get me through the day.
I tell my self of the love,
That once, you were to say.

How I used to hold it gently,
The heart that you had to guard.
To let it all become damged,
Would be nothing to disregard.

To look back on those times,
I wonder of what I am to soon face.
There is no time to be prepared,
To be ripped and torn from his place.

The place I used to belong,
at his hip, by his side.
But soon to find the truth,
No longer can I let it hide.

"Better to have love and lost, than never to have loved at all" (Shakespeare?) - good luck and feel your pain.

sometimes i question that theory. better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all see if you never love you dont know the pain that comes along with love therefore do not have to deal with it.
