one last day of the infected.
By SleepingDead
Author's Note:
This is a continuation of 'The extermination
begins.'
It's cold out today
White tears fall as
the angel sob
It's cold out today
Cold enough to do the job
My bare feet crunches in the snow
As I make my short
journey alone
I turn and look back to bid farewell
To my snow
covered home
It's so quiet
Like the world ceases
to move
But I know they're here
They're watching me, too
I come to a clearing
I hear them in the trees
They position
themselves
Weapons aimed toward me
I hear the faint
sounds of guns cocking
I smirk, they just don't know
I take the
gun from my hip
And toss it in the snow
I undo my
buttons slowly
And shrug my shirt to the ground
They watch, curiously,
from the distance
But neither make a sound
I stand
there vulnerable
Shivering, but determined
The men with the guns
look at me from the trees
Where I stand in my bare skin
They have found me
Soon, the infected will too
I scream to
the trees that the others couldn't have me
'And neither will you.'
I lay down in the snow
And stare up at the sky
I
breathe in the blistering cold air
And reluctantly close my eyes
They watch me from their places
Until nightfall comes
and goes
A finger falls soflty on my wrist
No pulse, they already
know
I wasn't infected
Death was not coming soon
I wasn't dangerous
I was only immune
My sick
family needed me
I felt no need to run
There was no cure, they
soon got tired
And helped me load the gun
After that,
my days were numbered by them
But I owned my own soul
My death
would be by my hand
I was in control
I watched from
the trees
Just before I ascend
The infected, in thousands
All stumble in
It's a battlefield, evil versus evil
As twisted as it could be
But my sympathy never comes
As they
never had any for me
