The Little Girl

By Ashes the Emo Fae

The small child

Wanted desperately to get bigger

To be grown up like the other big kids

To have others be proud of her

And let her know she did a good job

However

The grown up world is a jaded place

Her little hopes and dreams

Completely crushed within a single glance

Nothing would work out like she planned

No one would ever here from her

Know who she was

Now she’s a big girl

Her little childhood completely gone

But her dreams still in her mind

Too bad the grown up world doesn’t work that way

Her hopes are completely for naught

Worthless and useless

Just like she turned out to be

Even though she tried her best

Wanted everyone to be proud

The only thing she proved

Is that her childhood was wrong

No one can be happy in this world

Wishing and hoping for their dreams to come true

Even if she can get closer to that goal

Nothing will ever change

No one will ever know of her

Or be proud of her

She might as well be dead.
