unknown within

By forgoten_wolf

rats can not thrive a place so cold
spiders go blind in such obscurity
demons dare not to touch
no spirits lurk about
walls made of mortifying whispers
creating stone
a heart in plain sight is no where to be found
invisible to the human eye
every feeling of warmth is diminished
tonight
in this cage of barbed wire
that i grip tighter all the more
holding on to my sanity that is no longer there
its precious crimson color crawling  ever so slowly
cascading cold smooth young skin
crystalline tears stream down frozen cheeks
it is lit by a dim golden candle
eyes of pure innocence stare into its flickering life
half-minded and oblivious
thy nocturnal winged beast ask not who but why
her silence understood
left alone in tranquility
for now left to ponder
yet again the whispers arise
mind-blowing and ear-splitting
no love strong enough to penetrate the barrier
loud mocking whispers
needles so dull they are sharp
a black bird his dreadful screech heard from above
standing cautiously on the thorny wire
escapes stealing hope in his beak
the feathered animal camouflages into the darkness
swallowing him whole along with her faith
grey clouds rumble in the opaque sky
with a gust of wind
the last of the wax melts in its track and time stands still
the candles golden light dies OUT
soft lips tremble
fear consumes thy soul raw
enjoys the feast and bounds her with chains
no key in existence could unlock the heavy metal
ruminations and emotions
misunderstood by the human mind
constrained reserved hidden
such thinking which corrupts their inexperienced perception
within the black hole of thy enemies beating heart
though invisible to the human eye
is the answer to her pain
her forgotten heart beats in palpitations
illness strikes yet again
bones ache with frustration
the whispers become faint
her pessimistic consideration
revives the golden light
time continues
the few footprints that remain ahead never return
she blinks and takes a look at reality
which is not real at all
the whispers return
caged within her own mind

To be imprisoned inside one's self, left alone to your own whispers, the encroaching darkness, it's a maddening experience, an awesome piece, write on. Scholar
