Withdrawal

By DorothyValiga

My meds give me fits when I try to stop them. Withdrawal.
They tell me it's the same with heroin and cocaine.
Maybe that's what this grief is that I feel at losing someone.
People withdrawal.
Boyfriend withdrawal when I was younger and before I met my current love of my life.
Friend withdrawal when someone cut me out of their life or moved away.
Co-worker withdrawal when leaving a job and a group of people with whom I've shared my every weekday for years.
What kind of withdrawal pain do you call it when someone dies?
Friend grief withdrawal?
Dad grief withdrawal?
Brother grief withdrawal?
Daughter grief withdrawal?
Funny how the symptoms are the same.
Pain.
Curling up on yourself.
Cold. Hurts. Won't stop. All choked. Can't breathe.
Withdrawal.
Withdraw.
Without.
Without you.
Without you, it hurts.

I liked the way this progressed. To that ending, and bam.

A nice dark thought. thanks for sharing. You have a way of retelling the things you see and feel. Maybe you could try poetic verse, I think you would excel. Write on.

Thank you. I'm just trying my wings after decades of med-induced poetic silence and it's scary.
