An Owl's Lulluby
By Myzeray
A little something I made up to sing to my children. They were terrified
of an owl that had nested outside in our tree and was "Whoooooo"ing rather
loudly. A very very pretty white/grey owl, but still, the kids were terrified.
Just had to share. The words kinda suck but the kids didn't care. It rhymed
and mama made it up for them. Now, I share it with you, in hopes that if
you are scared of an owl nesting outside your apartment in the one damned
tree in the entire place...you will know he is just singing your a lullubye.
The horses run, the eagle flies, the owl sings you lullubyes.
The fox hunts, the wolf cries, the owl sings you lullubyes.
Run
the field, patrol the skies, come home I'll sing you lullubyes.
Hush
don't fear, spirits don't die, for the owl sings you lullubyes.
Swim
the oceans blue, hike the mountains high, the owl will still sing you lullubyes.
Ask all your questions, glean all the lies, the owl still sings you lullubyes.
Forever asking "Who?" and never asking "Why?" the owl goes on singing
you lullubyes.
When I am gone, after I breathe my last sigh, the
owl will still sing you lullubyes.
Always be strong, never be shy,
the owl will sing you lullubyes.
Whenever you're scared, just close
your eyes, the owl will sing you lullubyes.
