Leave Behind
By Enough
I would rather suffer
Then to die
Because what about the things
That I might leave behind?
What about the family
That I might have one day
And the dreams I dream might just come true
Everything might be okay
I will never know this
If I do not hold on tight
I'll learn to deal with these long days
And cope with sleepless nights
And if I reach the end of everything
And life didn't turn out how I wanted it to go...
And I still feel as bad as I do,
Well, at least I'll know
And at that point, it will be the end for me
Even if happiness I could never find
But maybe, just maybe, I would have found something special
Something I'd hate to have left behind

One of the more forceful appeals for continued existence.... is it making obvious what so many would rather deny? Does it expose existence as a process meaningful most clearly when considered from the eyes of others? Nice write and welcome to the valley.

The better choice, for sure. I like the way this is all strait to the point much like a thought processing and transcribed to the page. There was a time I told myself this, and it proved to be very, very right. Welcome to DP, write on.
