Simple Sonnet - Life

By Henry Coldnight

Fight! Giving up is not an option here
how do you know it will not work
so what if you could've done better
so what if the sky just had to turn dark

If you can turn to look out the window-
The grass is still green and you are alive
The light will always come with the shadow
the more you fall-- with a graceful dive!

Dance! with your each strange twist of fate!
there's no need to be afraid and run
for we are just getting into the good part
Come and face it, or you'll miss all the fun!

Life is like a sonnet, short and intimidating.
But it can also be simple and intriguing.

Nicely composed-I like! Enjoyed the tone of this piece, light and playful while delivering a strong message. The final stanza brings things to a close neatly and leaves us with some thinking to do. Kudos, excellent piece.
