Chapter 6 Go to Bed, Mr. Bear!
By Henry Coldnight
I was so happy
to see
that she was still here
when I came home
that night.
I was extra sleepy,
and beat up
by them grown-ups
and their utter clueless-ness.
Mr. Bear and I
both agreed that
next time
if we want to solve
a problem,
instead of telling them
what to do,
we are better off
just do it ourselves.
We slept on the hardwood floor
because we didn't want to
disturb her.
She was truly gorgeous;
with those pretty wings,
she was sure to be
an angel--
and she slept like one too.
I really don't know
how they could be so
blind and did not see her,
seriously.
Mr. Bear told me
that he saw her
leaving,
she tried to sneak out
but she cannot escape
his sharp stuffed-animal instincts.
And I told him that
he should have been
sleeping
and keeping his mind off
angels' business.
Now that she is gone,
I hope my bed wasn't too small;
and I hope she had found
her way back home.

pure brilliance -- captivating, tells just enough, and leaves so much for the imagination... I love it!
