Smooth Sailing

By Syringe

I inhaled air that

Finally felt like my own

It didn’t burn my lungs

The way I thought it would

I’ve finally let go of

C o n t r o l

I’ve taken my worries

folded them into origami cranes

Gave them wings

And threw them away

I’m at peace now

No worries

No apologies

Just "ease"

And you know what

I’ve never felt better
