i want to be greater
or lesser than, but
never equal to
[him]

*static*
it was a nervous little shudder

(it's weary progress, though).

i yell, i get frustrated, i scream.

foolish lips...and scary things at 2 am,

like everyone else, i want to be

misunderstood and underrrated.

[i'll get the best of you either way.]

so, here's your rope back

because i'm done hanging.

(yes i still write...just not here...thought this was a fitting work)

madlib apocalypse

don't hang on words 'cause
words aren't always heard.
now, they told us how to be set free
with prophecies that sound of madlibs,
jumbled and out of place.

we'll refuse to listen,
in the marigold borders
of this antique garden,
through the dischord of music
sung by slain friends.

we didn't think how to laugh
we didn't think how to dance.
we didn't think how to love.

we floated and waltzed
cross the dance floor,
laughing over another drink.

it's not in tomorrow.
it's not in apathy.
it's not in yesterday.

it's You and me.
it's here and now.
that we'll be set free.

decid.ead.

i'll no longer determine how i feel
due to one person (my daily control, if you're so scientific) around me...

so...figuring something has to fill
the empty chasm in my brain,
my head will accordingly make
all emotional adjustments in
juxtaposition to the tree around
the corner...

and everyday i'll walk by my tree
and say,
"tree, nothing can make me
blue because i've changed my mindset.
you were once little, now you're big
and tall. winter comes and just when
you look dead, spring arrives saving
our friendship"

and one day (probably sooner than later)
someone will cut you down...

and i'll have to find a new tree
to hold a control in mine life.

of course, it'll be hard those
first few days, knowing you
aren't there...

but, after some time...
and a few seasons with
my new tree (no offense)
i'll walk by where you once
towered and say-to whomever
i may be walking with-

"you know my tree back around the corner?"

"yeah..."

"well, that used to be my tree..."

  • A former member wrote: I took my own interp on this,..for me it was a very human emotion of jealous despair,..when knowing of 'another' that now holds the hand of the one you love.d,..to physically/mentally/emotionally become unable to put yourself in the same space,..total removal of character,..would prefer to be anything but but similar to 'him'...even that would be too close.
