Mother Russia

"Mumble."
The front door clanged;
Keys, footsteps.
A Russian TV blared.
"Go away"
Chips crunched; a bottle opened.
A Russian TV blared.
"Go Away!"
He sat up.
"Morning sunshine"
A bottle landed on his chest and rolled to his lap, and for a moment he thought he would follow.
A hiss, a pop.
Vodka, burning sweet and full of a tranquility he wished would rear its head elsewhere.
Swimming vision slowed to a tread.
"You been out already?"
Chips crunched, another bottle opened.
"Da, put in a few hours this morning."
A groan, a Russian TV blared.
"Damnit man, its Sunday, rest a little."
"And end up looking like yourself? Not a chance in Hell."
The Russian TV changed, blare, to blare, to blare.
Swirling colors and dancing sounds.
"Hey I was watching that."
"Tough shit sleeping beauty."
The TV continued to blur.
A bell chimed, once, twice, then he lost count.
"Eleven" a pointless musing he thought.
"Didn't you have a date at eleven?"
Pretzeled legs awoke. A bottle fell.
The washroom door closed; water sprayed.
A chair reclined, blankets shuffled.
A Russian TV blared.
A door opened, footsteps.
"How do I look?"
"Like the bullet that hit the pig's ass"
"Thanks, some help you are."
A Russian TV blared
Footsteps, keys;
The front door clanged.
"Mumble"

The jeep was cold.
Red light, red light.
The clock blinked 11:12.
"Late, late oh please be late."
Red light.
A cell phone rang.
"Hello? Late? yes we can reschedule, no its no trouble at all."
The cell phone beeped off.
A horn whined.
Green light.

This is unlike your normal style. Refreshing really. I like the atmosphere to it, well portreyed. It was dismal, yet, strangely uplifting... at least for me. "Green light" just as everything fell through... such is life. Kep it up, this is good. -Trigger
