1+1=1
By Brimstone
Long, I've been told, when man and woman grow old
Slowly the veil severs from this world and the other
When it comes to pass, when my flesh is undressed
Then, will my hunger be considered the past?
Is it not effortless, when flesh knits together
Nor is it not conscious to rip apart another
Infecting these wounds with our foul dripping tongues?
When my words are done, and my body lies still
All-together the picture of nothing, my skin
Whom is suitable to taste my failure then?
Have I failed myself in this life, the former, the next?
Will it all be the same; sub-conscious regret?
There's nothing left for the world to consume
Merely lifeless palor, does the broken rose bloom?
When that cold hand lays itself on my brow
It will be too late, to think 'what now?'

man and women is 1+1=1. This life and the next could be 1+1=1. Experience is 1+1=1, allways ending back to where it started. We might add to it but it is just what is given. Fate is 1+1=1 no matter what. "No escape" even in death. Thats my thoughts on your poem and 1+1=1. I may be off track but I enjoyed reading this alot!

Thank you, I think you understand well, Nadir. Amusing to hear that I've poisoned your subconscious! A very ignoble truth, that all we do is naught - we are left with the same as our beginning.

Funny thing is that I am teaching math at a public school, and yesterday I was sick and running a fever(still sick). So I was supposed to say 1*1=1 but said 1+1=1 and kind of lost track in it.

I liked the energy to this piece. I feel stupid after reading it though, I don't see the connection to it and the title. ~T

Creating One from Two, adding more to what already exists and finding it to be no different - multiple lifetimes, wrapped into one perspective, an immediate present. For an instant in writing this I felt I already had. Thank you for your appreciation!
