One Last Time

By Demyelinated

Without a reason or too much at stake,
it’s the cloudiest thoughts that keep me awake.
Accepting my life, the way it must be.
Thinking if the choice is up to me.

Revealing my instincts, regressing my pride.
Opening the door to the world I’m inside.
Scared of my fate, I know all too well.
Scared of the thoughts I have, but don’t tell.

Expecting a change yet I’m numb to it all.
Stand where I must if it’s here where I fall.
Just can’t keep on thinking, just not like this...
it only shatters the world that I miss.

Acceptance comes with maturity - just make sure that it is acceptable to you too. Don't resign yourself to "fate" as some would call it - when it is really an excuse for laziness. Thoughtful poem well written, thanks.
