Isadora, The beginning.

[Note: I am a nerd at heart. This story was written for a background to my Setite character to the RPG Vampire: The Masquerade.]

Isadora, daughter of an aristocratic couple from up-scale New York was given many things in life; but it wasn’t what she wanted. No car or amount of zero’s in her bank account could subdue her pain.
Student by Day, a ballerina by night. She felt she never had time for herself or for her love of books. Her Parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Lowe, a well known couple in the Stocks and Bond Trading industry disapproved of such a poisoning free time, but was never home to fill that time with any family activities. Between being at the office or attending regular meet and greets; there was never any time left for her.
One Night after an excruciating practice for an upcoming show she was to star in, Isadora decided to make a quick stop by Beatrice’s Bargain Books and Bakery over on west Main. Such a long day just seemed right to rewards her with a great book of wondrous fantasies she knew she could never do in the “real world” as her parents referred to.
It was a little late to be out on the West side of town but she didn’t care. Due to traffic she’d never make it in time to the ever-so-popular Barnes and Nobles, nor did it bother her to settle for second hand books. The stories always seemed more rich in tale with an old leather bound book that smelled of musk and cigars compared to the new, stiff fresh-scented books from other stores.
She was a regular at Beatrice’s store, stopping in at least two or three times a week, so being in such a neighborhood well past duck never made her question her safety.
This time was different though. She could tell as soon as she stepped foot out of her silver Toyota Prias.
As she approached the French double doors to the book store a man stepped out of the shadows and called to her, “I’ve been watching you for some time, Isadora. I can sense your every emotion. I know you just as you know yourself, possibly even better.”
Scared, she thought to herself, who is this man?
“I planned to formally introduce myself later on when the time would be much more appropriate, but since you are asking out of fear, and yes, I can hear your thoughts, now would be just as good of a time as any. Please, accept my apology, I had no intentions of scaring you and for that, I am sorry. My name is Delano. Delano Lart.”
“Wealth, fame, it doesn’t influence you the way it does everyone else around you. The simplicities of life that you adore over materialistic items show your true wealth. In many ways, that characteristic alone makes you far wealthier than the wastes of mortal life that spawned you.”
“What do you want, money? Take it all. Just please, I beg you, please don’t hurt me!” Isadora said terrified to Delano as she threw her purse down at his feet.
“Not money, you.” And with great speed and intense force Delano sunk his teeth in her vein ever and he could feel her body grow limp. He carefully cradled her almost lifeless body in his arms and set off towards the dark alleyway between the bookstore and a boutique.

And this is where the real story begins…
